It is going to be a decade soon since tourism boom started in Armenia.
The beginning of that is 2001, the year when whole Christian world was celebrating the 1700th anniversary of first Christianity embracing as established religion. Palmers were coming to Armenia to observe this date in the first Christian state and to see by them own eyes the single world-place, where after the Saint Resurrection descended begotten Son of God Jesus Christ!
After this event the quantity of people interested in visiting Armenia, the country what is lying on the foot of scriptural Ararat whitened with eternal snow was only growing. According to NSSA in 2004 Armenia visited 260.000 tourists. This is a huge amount for our little country. Moreover, the quantity of tours is permanently growing.
It is good that more and more people visiting Armenia are not only satisfied with bus sight seeing, but also display desire for pedestrian, bike, ski and horse trips. To wit, people preferring active rest (tourism). People wishing to spend their vacation on country-side, yearned for the smell of campfire smoke and for the taste of potato baked in ash.
